MEET THE FOUNDERS

Abe and Diane Bible

Abe felt the call to be a missionary when he was a child growing up in Holland. Inspired by a film about Albert Schweitzer, he knew that was his calling, despite having little other information about missionaries. At 19, Abe immigrated to Canada and within a year and a half, barely able to speak English, entered Bible school in Medicine Hat, AB. Later, he met Diane at a Christian university in the States, where they both shared a childhood calling to missions.

Since then, their lives have been dedicated to mission work, including several years in Alaska, conducting street and door-to-door evangelism in Calgary, and finally moving overseas in 1983 to train pastors and leaders in Communist countries. With the fall of communism, they settled in Ukraine, where they have lived for 34 years.

When war struck Ukraine, God renewed their call to remain faithful. Currently, their ministry focuses on long-term soul-winning by establishing modern, community-focused churches for the younger generation. These new church plants are named Centres of Hope.

Our Calling and Journey

Rebuilding Lives In Ukraine

Abe and Diane Bible are Christian missionaries who have dedicated the last 39 years to serving in Communist countries, with the past 32 years spent in Ukraine. When they first moved there, Ukraine was still under Communist rule. Today, they are heartbroken by Russia’s attack on Ukraine and its efforts to oppress the country once more. In Russia, freedom is extremely limited.

After much prayer, they have committed themselves to bringing renewal to Ukraine, both during this devastating war and in its aftermath. The physical destruction is immense, with over 6 million Ukrainian refugees now in other countries and millions more displaced within Ukraine.

Their mission is to restore hope and rebuild lives amidst the chaos.
