MEET THE FOUNDER

Brenda Giangregorio

Brenda’s life journey through the Levant began in 1984, when she landed in Israel and felt an overwhelming sense of being at home. She began attending local churches and living among indigent refugees in enormous need of medical care, and soon found herself advocating for and transporting children across borders for medical intervention. As time went on, the conflict against Iraq added new responsibilities. She worked in Israeli hospital warehouses, packing atropine and morphine in medics’ field bags in preparation with the Israeli Army during Operation Desert Shield of the Gulf War in 1990-1991. From 2006 to the present, Brenda has maintained safe houses as bases of operation in both Jordan and Israel, while continuing to learn Semitic and Arabic languages in Amman, Jordan. All the while, she has been transporting children in need from disputed territories into Israel and America for care. In 2017, Brenda embraced the challenge of serving as a language interpreter and proxy for children and families fleeing the conflict in Syria. These desperate souls, who found refuge in humanitarian camps within the demilitarized zones between outlying and warring countries, were in a unique environment with a myriad of Arabic dialects where no one could understand each other. From 2017 to the present, her work continues to operate in severe situations where life is at risk and circumstances seem hopeless.

Our Calling and Journey

Lifesaving Aid in Conflict Zones

During Operation Desert Shield in 1990-1991, Brenda courageously worked alongside the Israeli Army, preparing medical supplies in anticipation of conflict. Since then, she has maintained safe houses in Jordan and Israel, learning Semitic and Arabic languages while transporting sick and injured children across borders for life-saving treatment.

In 2017, Brenda expanded her mission to interpret for families fleeing Syria, navigating the complexities of multiple Arabic dialects in humanitarian camps. Her work involves smuggling people to safety, delivering vital supplies into conflict zones, and securing medical care where none exists.

Recently, Brenda has been instrumental in supporting the Medical Forces of the Israeli Defence Force amidst conflict, treating and evacuating casualties in volatile areas like the Gaza Strip and Lebanese borders.

Brenda’s mission began in 1984 when she felt a profound connection to Israel, eventually dedicating her life to serving the most vulnerable in conflict-ridden regions of the Levant. What started as attending local churches and living among refugees evolved into a relentless pursuit of providing medical care to those in desperate need.
